About

On the subject of me

I hail from the Antipodean islands where I studied music, media and literature at university, ran a cabaret company, performed, directed and ‘tech’ed around the place in various amateur, fringe and charity productions, did digital marketing, PR and web design for companies including British Council, Sydney Opera House and GrainCorp.

Since moving to the UK in 2009, I have worked in digital PR, working with clients including Microsoft, O2 Telefonica, Boxee, Evernote and FT.com, established Twespians, a regular theatre networking event, hunted ghosts, reviewed theatre and married the girl of my dreams.

I wish to be on the stage, but one can’t have everything.

On the subject of this blog

I started this blog as a way for me to review shows as a blogger. However, working in digital PR, attending design, web and development conferences and a general yearn to change the world has made me realise that this isn’t enough for me. Instead, I hope to analyse, critique, suggest, pontificate, damn and praise the theatre industry in the UK, drawing in from as many different industries and places as possible, in the hopes to make theatre as exciting for me as it was when I first stepped on stage at 13.

I feel I have set myself quite the challenge.

If you want to get in touch about anything (including free tickets to shows. I like those) then email me at luke (funnylittleatsymbol) twosacompany (dot) org, or hit me up via Twitter

    Hi Luke
We have recently set up a new theatre and music blog and have just added your excellent site to our blogroll. We are two young and passionate theatregoers and we would love it if you could take a look at our blog and add us to your own blogroll. Please feel free to leave us any feedback or advice as we are always looking on ways to improve the site.

    Hi Luke,
Hope you’re well! I came across your site as I am working with an Australian artist Emma Dean who has just released an album “Dr Dream and the Imaginary Pop Cabaret” and thought it might be an album that you could enjoy. Emma joins cabaret and pop in a really interesting mix of sounds and her live show is fantastic, exploring her personality through cabaret.

Drop me an email and I can send you a copy of the digital album.

    Cheers
    Stephen

    Hi Luke,

What can you tell me about the hauntings at Smithfield Meat Market? I’m a producer for Ghost Hunters International and we’re hoping to come film an investigation there sometime in the near future.
Let me know if you have any stories!
